By accessing or using Severn (severn.app), operated by Severn ("we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service. We may update these terms from time to time and will notify registered users of material changes via email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
Severn is a platform that helps university students and early-career candidates discover contacts at UK finance firms, generate personalised cold outreach emails using AI, and send those emails through their own email accounts. The service includes a firm research database, AI-powered email drafting, pipeline management, email sending via SMTP, and performance tracking.
You must be at least 18 years old to use Severn. By creating an account, you represent that you are at least 18 and that all information you provide is accurate. The service is designed for university students and recent graduates in the United Kingdom seeking career opportunities in financial services.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. One account per person. You must provide a valid email address and accurate profile information. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, provide false information, or engage in abusive behaviour.
You agree to use Severn only for legitimate career networking and professional outreach. You must not:
You are solely responsible for the content of all emails you send through Severn, even when generated by AI. You must review every email before sending.
Severn uses AI language models (provided by Anthropic) to generate email drafts based on your profile and firm research data. AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving all email content before sending. We do not guarantee the accuracy, appropriateness, or effectiveness of AI-generated emails. Emails are generated using your profile data and publicly available firm information; no confidential or proprietary data is fabricated.
Severn sends emails through your own Gmail account using an app password you provide. By connecting your email, you authorise Severn to send emails on your behalf to the recipients you select. We only send emails you have explicitly reviewed and approved (or, for Elite users who enable auto-send, follow-ups generated within the configured follow-up sequence). We do not access your inbox, read your emails, or send any communications you have not initiated through the platform.
Severn offers free and paid subscription tiers (Pro and Elite) as well as one-time credit pack purchases. All payments are processed securely by Stripe. Prices are displayed in GBP and are inclusive of VAT where applicable.
Subscriptions renew automatically each month. You can cancel at any time through the billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Upgrades are prorated. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current period. Refunds are available within 14 days of initial subscription purchase if you have not used the service; credit pack purchases are non-refundable once credits have been consumed.
The firm database contains publicly available information compiled from company websites, Companies House filings, the FCA Register, and other public sources. Contact email addresses are generated using publicly observable patterns. While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that any email address is correct or that any contact is currently employed at the listed firm. We are not responsible for bounced emails, incorrect contacts, or any consequences of contacting individuals listed in the database.
The Severn platform, including its design, code, firm database, research briefs, and AI prompts, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the service without written permission. Email content generated for you is yours to use freely. Your profile data, CV, and pipeline remain your property.
Your use of Severn is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data. By using the service, you consent to data processing as described in the Privacy Policy.
Severn is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any emails sent will be delivered, opened, or responded to. We do not guarantee any specific outcomes such as interviews, job offers, or responses from firms.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Severn and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, reputation, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
You may delete your account at any time from the dashboard. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, engage in abusive or fraudulent behaviour, or if required by law. Upon termination, your personal data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Any unused credits or remaining subscription time are non-refundable upon termination for cause.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
